Tomboy

Award winning short animation reveal how Alex deals with bullying. Alex (short for Alejandra) loves soccer, the colour red, and playing the trumpet. The other kids think those are “boy” things and tease her mercilessly. After running home in tears, her mom reassures her that she is great just the way she is.

Tomboy is a 14 minute short animated film for children.

Featuring actors Athena Karkanis, Alex Castillo and Sandi Ross, Tomboy is a great vehicle for children to explore gender expression and bullying.  The colourful visuals are complimented by moving music composed by Alejandra Nunéz.
